Every week I will be providing you all with my personal opinions on the next matches along with my predicted results. These opinions can change dramatically the closer we get to kick-off, but it's a great place to start.

West Ham 12:30 Man City

TEAM NEWS

West Ham's new signing Said Benrahma is expected to be among the substitutes.

Michail Antonio is available despite being taken off against Tottenham as a precaution, while fellow forward Sebastien Haller is back after a knock.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho will be out for up to four weeks after he suffered a leg injury against Porto.

Kevin de Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte have returned to training but manager Pep Guardiola would not say if they will be involved.

Nathan Ake could also return, but Gabriel Jesus and Benjamin Mendy remain out.

Prediction

West Ham have their confidence sky-high after their comeback draw against Spurs last time out,

Man City have been looking a little out of sorts this season but do have an excellent record against the Hammers.

I would like to say this game will be a score draw.. Maybe 2-2 but I just can't help but think City just have too much depth for West Ham to handle

MY PREDICTION: A very lively 1-2

 

Fulham  15:00 Crystal Palace

TEAM NEWS

Fulham are unlikely to risk playing Harrison Reed, who only recently returned to training after a month out with a knee injury.

Terence Kongolo could make his debut but Josh Onomah has been left out of Fulham's 25-man Premier League squad because of a knee problem.

Crystal Palace are without Gary Cahill, who was injured in a challenge by Brighton's Lewis Dunk last week.

Jordan Ayew and Jack Butland are self-isolating after getting coronavirus.

Prediction

Fulham have finally got a point on the board and have a chance to grab another one this week, I can't see Fulham bagging all 3 but an entertaining draw looks likely

MY PREDICTION: 1-1

Man United 17:30 Chelsea

TEAM NEWS

Edinson Cavani is in contention to make his Manchester United debut and a first league appearance since featuring for Paris Saint-Germain in February.

Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood should be available but Anthony Martial is suspended, while Eric Bailly may miss four weeks with a muscular injury.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa is sidelined with a shoulder injury, with Billy Gilmour the only other absentee.

Hakim Ziyech could make his first start after two substitute appearances.

Prediction

Well, this game has all the makings of an Epic encounter, both teams have started playing well with great attacking forwards and both teams have struggled at the back in recent games.

I think this will be a high scoring nonstop goal feast !!!

MY PREDICTION: A very attacking 3-2

 

Liverpool  20:00 Sheffield United

TEAM NEWS

Fabinho looks set to continue deputizing for Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool's defense after impressing in the Champions League win at Ajax.

There is still no timescale on Van Dijk's absence with a knee injury, while Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara will be assessed.

Rhian Brewster could make his first Premier League start for Sheffield United on his return to Anfield.

John Fleck and Lys Mousset will both miss around six weeks through injury.

Manager Chris Wilder is already without defender Jack O'Connell, while Max Lowe's Premier League debut was cut short last Sunday after he suffered a concussion.

Prediction

Sheffield are going to have to dig deep to get something out of this game.

True Liverpool have some rearranging to do at the back and Adrian in goal is still yet to be proven but I feel Liverpool just have to much depth and experience to let this match slip away from them

EPL Football Week 4 Predictions and Reviews

Week 4. 3rd & 4th October. 2020

Saturday 3rd October

                 Chelsea 12:30 Crystal Palace

Chelsea has started the season very nervously seeming to lack match practice or confidence in their own abilities. We could see both Mendy and Chilwell making an appearance in this match for there debuts and I cannot wait to see what kind of an impact they are going to have.

Crystal Palace have had a decent start to this campaign and always have a solid defensive approach but I think Chelsea’s creativity will just be a little too much for them.

Prediction 2-0

                   Everton 15:00 Brighton

This is my pick for game of the day, Everton can’t stop scoring and Brighton are really playing with their hearts on their sleeves. Both teams can score goals for fun and both can be a little lax at the back. I think Everton will just pinch this one but don’t rule Brighton out for a top 10 finish this season. 

Prediction 3-1 

                 Leeds 17:30 Man City

Leeds have excited me so far this season with their fast-moving, nonstop running and cavalier attitude, but how will they handle Man City? especially as Guardiola will have a point to prove after being dismantled by Leicester last week.

This should be an excellent free-flowing game, but I think Man City will try and slow the game down and boss the midfield.

Prediction 0-2

                 Newcastle 20:00 Burnley

Newcastle must be starting to think that lady luck is finally on their side after playing some solid football and benefiting from some good fortune, were as Burnley just cannot catch a break at the moment on or off the pitch. 

Both teams have the potential to win this game but for me, I’m betting with good fortune.

Prediction 2-0

Sunday 4th October

             Leicester City 12:00 West Ham

So last week I said, Jamie Vardy was looking a bit old and a yard off the pace. Then he goes and scores a hattrick against Man City! I won’t be making the same mistake this week, West Ham has a good solid squad at the moment and will be a tough opponent for any club this season but unless they are going to change their tactics and play counterattack I feel Leicester will be just too much for them.

Prediction 2-1

         Southampton 12:00 West Brom

How is blowing a 3-0 lead going to affect West Brom? Will it give them self-belief that they can score against top teams or will it destroy their confidence in their own backline?

Southampton on the other hands will be happy to have recorded their first victory in the league and eager to push on for more.

I rate these teams as even and feel this will be an entertaining and competitive match.

Prediction 1-1

                Arsenal 14:00 Sheffield

I have been wrong many times, but I only see one result coming from this game and that’s an Arsenal win. 

Arsenal have a well organised team that is really starting to work together and against Sheffield who seriously need to add at least a top-class striker and center to their ranks I believe this will just be one-way traffic.

Prediction 3-0 

                   Wolves 14:00 Fulham

This is looking live 2 successive losses to midlands teams for Fulham after they were brushed aside by Villa last week.

Let’s face it when the board comes out and apologizes to the fans for the way they played you know it must be bad. It’s hard to see who is going to score the next goal for them.

Wolves have had their own rocky periods this term but you feel they will just have too much talent on the field to be troubled by the visitors.

Prediction 2-0

              Man United 16:30 Tottenham

I’ve been looking forward to this game.

Tottenham have played 7 games in the last 19 days but have seen to be getting better each game but will this be the straw that breaks the cockerels back. Either way for Mourinho it will be a great achievement or a good excuse.

United have been good going forward but as we saw in the last game against Brighton they are spending far too much time in their own half defending deep.

I will admit I am torn on this one, either side could win it, I just feel United’s midfield will invite to many attacking chances for Spurs.

Prediction 1-2

                  Aston Vill 19:15 Liverpool

Villa has made a great start to the league this season beating Sheffield and Fulham but this will be their first game against a top club and unless Liverpool is having a really bad day at the office I can only see this result going Liverpool's way.

Saturday 26th September

Brighton & Hove 12:30 Manchester United.

I've found over the years that with football you have to disregard logic sometimes, and it seems like trying to predict any Manchester United game at the moment is impossible, and Brighton are exactly the same. 

Brighton losing to Chelsea 1-3 at home first game was predictable if not flattering for Chelsea, but then to go to Newcastle and win away 0-3 was a revelation, and after all the hype about United's ambitions this season, to lose quite convincingly to Crystal Palace 1-3 at home was quite frankly embarrassing for them. 

Both teams have proven they can score a lot of goals and concede a lot also so my prediction is for a high scoring Draw. 

Prediction 3-3

  Crystal Palace 15:00 Everton

Where to start? Crystal Palace's last match was beating ManU 1-3 and Everton was a home win 5-2 against West Brom. 

I have predicted both teams to have safe mid-table seasons this year and with Crystal Palace´s pact midfield and Everton's normally disciplined defense, I see this as a game with few goal-scoring chances in it.  

Prediction 0-1 

       West Brom 17:30 Chelsea

Poor West Brom has already let in 8 goals in just two games were as big spenders Chelsea stumbled at there first big challenge against Liverpool last week. 

Chelsea needs to prove a point and West Brom needs to stop the rot.

I believe Chelsea should win this game comfortably, condemning West Brom to 3 losses in 3 games but will it be enough to paper of the creaks of last week's defeat?

Prediction 1-4

             Burnley 20:00 Southampton 

This game doesn't excite me at all, I think Burnley will end up lower mid-table and Southampton will be lucky no to go down.

Both teams could break there duck with a win in this game however I feel neither will.

Prediction 0-0

Sunday 27th September

    Sheffield United 12:00 Leeds United

I cant see where Sheffields next goal is coming from whereas in contrast Leed can't stop scoring.

This game will be played with high emotions and we could see the scoreline being heavily affected by the number of players left on the pitch if the respective managers aren't careful.

Prediction 0-3

          Tottenham 14:00 Newcastle

The 2 Dr. Jekle and Mr. Hyde teams winning away and losing at home, both have disappointed me and surprised me so far,  but more so Tottenham.

It looks like the Moreno magic is starting to work or at least for Son. This should be a great game for Spurs but I can see Steve Bruce parking the bus for this match.

Prediction 2-0

    Manchester City 16:30 Leicester City

Hard to judge this game given that I haven't seen ManC play yet this season but given the quality and depth they have I'm sure they will be more than a match for Leicester City and an aging Vardy. Before everyone starts shouting at for my Vardy comment, He is a great player and leader but I feel he may be a yard short this year.

Prediction 3-1 

             West Ham 19:00 Wolves

With West ham yet to win a game, although they have played well at times, and with wolves seeming to start the season where they left off last season, minus a few players but with money in the bank. I believe this match will be close.

Prediction 1-1

Monday 28th September

                Fulham 18:00 Aston Villa

Aston Villa has had to wait to start the new season after their first match against Manchester City was postponed, but I don't think they will mind that too much. Fulham I bet wish there first two games were postponed as they slumped to defeat in both. 

Neither side has really shown enough squad strength to excite us and I believe both will struggle to avoid relegation.

Prediction 1-0

             Liverpool 20:15 Arsenal

So does the Comunity Shield really count as a trophy?

Obviously, Liverpool will be out for revenge in this game, and even though Arsenal has made a winning start to the season, I am still not convinced that they have what it takes to beat Liverpool especially at Anfield.
